Crawford Urban Renewal Plan <br />2. Fort Nelson Redevelopment Plan <br />3o Twin Pines Conservation and Redevelopment <br /> Plan <br /> <br />Chairman Robinett offered the following statement: <br /> <br /> "Mayor Webb and members of Council,, on behalf of the <br />Board of Commissioners of the Redevelopment and Housing <br />Authority, I am pleased to propose three plan amendments° In <br />furhterance of the goals for progress in the City of Portsmouth <br />which were previously established by Council, we are proposing <br />amendments to the Crawford Urban Renewal Project Plan, the Fort <br />Nelson Glance Plan, and the Twin Pines Plan. We feel that <br />these measures will enable us to continue Our jo'int efforts to <br />enhance the overall quality of life for Portsmouth citizens as <br />well as promote the physical appearance and image of the City." <br /> <br />Danny Cruce, offered the following statement: <br /> <br /> "Amendment No. 18 to the Crawford Urban Renewal Plan is <br />being proposed to facilitate the revitalization of the <br />Effingham and County Street Corridors, and proposes to <br />designate for future acquisition several properties in the 400 <br />block of Effingham Street, the 400 block of Green Street, the <br />700 block of Queen Street, and all the properties within the <br />block bounded on the North by King, on the east by Chestnut, on <br />the South by County and on the west by Apple Street. Current <br />plans specify that reuse for land in this area be for mixed <br />used purposes in conjunction with the Priority Action Plan. <br /> <br /> Amendment No. 6 to the Fort Nelson Urban .Renewal Plan is <br />being proposed to assist in facilitating devellopment of a <br />formerly City owned parcel of land generally bounded by Grace, <br />Green, North and Effingham Streets and propose!s t0 change the <br />land use from~Public Use tO Private Commerciali Reuse, <br /> <br /> Amend NO.~2 to the Twin Pines Plan proposes to make all <br />convenants in the Plan effective and applicable to land <br />conveyed within the Project Area for a period of 20 years." <br /> <br /> Alfred Chandler, 1208 Marco Drive, Chesapeake, spoke <br />concerning property at 907-927 King Street and asked for the <br />status of the acquisition of the property. <br /> <br /> <br />
