The Fire Headquarters roof was bid <br />last year and Roof Tech, Inc. was low bidder. Due to funding <br />limitations, only the south and east .sections of the roof were <br />reparired.' ~ is r~¢ommend~ that R~f-Tech,~nc., be awarded <br />the contract fo~ the remaining sections of~ the 'roof at.~ cost <br />of $26,700. Repair of the Naval Museum roof was recently bid <br /> <br />with the following bids submitted: <br /> <br /> National Roofing Co. $24,992 <br /> ACEVES. $27,7~ <br /> Roof~.Tech, Inc. $29,98.5 <br /> <br /> Therefore, I ~ecommend the Naval Museum roof repair be <br />awarded to National Roofing Co. <br /> <br /> In summary, I recommend an appropriation of $5~,692 (which <br />includes $11,962 from the CIP contingency) and award of bids to <br />Roof Tech, .Inc.~ in the amount ~f $26,700 and National Roofing <br />Co. in the ~mo~nt of $24,992." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Simpson and seconded by Mr. Gray the <br />following ordinance was approved on first reading, and <br />contracts'awarded ~t~ Roof Tech, Inc. and National Roofing <br />Company, and <br />by unani~u's vose. <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $51,692 FROM THE CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR THE ROOF REPAIRS AT THE FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT'S HEADQUARTERS AND THE PORTSMOUTH NAVAL <br />SHIPYARD MUS~UM~" <br /> <br /> 88-491 - Letter from the City Manager recommending <br />adoption Of an ordinance to amend Chapters 6, 14, 17~ and 39 of <br />the Code of the Ci'ty of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, as amended <br />pertaining to Environmental Services and General Services. <br /> <br /> "~t '~our ~'u~sd~ay, November 22, ~988 meeting, action was <br />taken to amend Chapter 2 of the Portsmouth City Code titled <br />-Administration.· At that time the City Attorney advised that <br />there were a number of other sections of the code which would <br />also need to be amended and that upon further review these <br />changes would be' brouhgt to you for approval.
