AUQust 25. 2009 Next Steps Following Council Action: . The Chief of Police or his designee will provide grant management and oversight. Motion by Mr. Heretick, and seconded by Ms. Randall, to adopt the following ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: "ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $654,981 FROM THE BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE OF THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2009-2010 ECONOMIC STIMULUS FUND FOR USE BY THE PORTSMOUTH POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR TECHNOLOGY AND EQUIPMENT." Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley Nays: None 09 - 442 - Adoption of an ordinance appropriating in the FY 2009-2010 Behavioral Healthcare Services Fund the sum of $875 allocated to the Portsmouth Department of Behavioral Healthcare Services by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services for Emergency Preparedness and Response Activities. Vision Principle: Vision Principle: Thriving Neighborhoods and a Sense of Community. Background: . DBHDS has allocated funds to CSBs to develop terrorism and emergency preparedness including training supplies, purchase services and equipment for emergency response. Discussion: . DBHS has utilized funds in previous years to develop the Emergency Preparedness plan and purchased emergency equipment for its sites of operation. Financial Impact: . The additional funds will expand the services being delivered. . No local match funding is required. Recommended Action: . Adoption of an ordinance to approve the appropriation of $875.00 to conduct Emergency Preparedness and Response activities. Vision principle: Thriving Neighborhoods and a Sense of Community. Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Mr. Smith, to adopt the following ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: "ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING IN THE FY 2009-2010 BEHAVIORAL HEAL THCARE SERVICES FUND THE SUM OF $875 ALLOCATED TO THE PORTSMOUTH DEPARTMENT OF BEHAVIORAL HEAL THCARE SERVICES BY THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES FOR EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE ACTIVITIES."
