<br />April 14. 2009 <br /> <br />There were no speakers. <br /> <br />(c) Public hearing to consider real estate taxes and a proposed <br />rate change to take effect on July 1, 2009. <br /> <br />1. Ann Stewart, 5219 Cobble Hill Road, spoke in opposition to the proposed real estate <br />tax rate increase. <br /> <br />2. Christa Black, 703 Finchley Road, spoke in opposition to the proposed real estate <br />tax rate increase. <br /> <br />3. William Connolly, 475 Water Street, Unit 201, spoke in opposition to the proposed <br />real estate tax rate increase. <br /> <br />4. Bruce LaLonde, 168 Yorkshire Road, asked that the City look into modifying some of <br />the requirements with regards to real estate tax relief for senior citizens. <br /> <br />5. Ron Evans, 14 Chippewa Trail, spoke in opposition to the proposed real estate tax <br />rate increase. <br /> <br />6. Paul Landers, 402 Cabot Street, spoke in opposition to the proposed real estate tax <br />rate increase. <br /> <br />7. Chris Evans, 192 Yorkshire Road, asked City Council to provide tax relief for the <br />senior citizens in the City. <br /> <br />8. Ronald Reed, 5911 Bertrand Street, spoke in opposition to the proposed real estate <br />tax rate increase. <br /> <br />9. Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, 2713 Sterling Point Drive, spoke in support of this item. <br /> <br />10. Terry Danaher, 413 Dinwiddie Street, spoke in support of this item. <br /> <br />11. John Bender, 3606 Lilac Drive, spoke in opposition to the proposed real estate tax <br />rate increase. <br /> <br />12. James Jacobs, 90 Channing Avenue, spoke in opposition to the proposed real <br />estate tax rate increase, <br /> <br />13. Bob Rose, 3108 Riveredge Drive, spoke in opposition to the proposed real estate <br />tax rate increase. <br /> <br />14. Martha Ann Creecy, 317 Dinwiddie Street, spoke in support of this item. <br /> <br />15. Edward Ellis, 3117 Rolen Drive, spoke in opposition to the proposed real estate tax <br />rate increase. <br /> <br />16. Joanna Hall, 92 Nicholson Street, spoke in support of this item but asked that City <br />Council provide tax relief for senior citizens in the City. <br /> <br />(d) Public hearing to consider the Annual Operating Budget that <br />increases the tax rates on real property tax, cigarette tax, increases <br />the rates on certain public utility rates, various rates and fees for <br />Permits and Inspections, Engineering, Fire and includes proposed <br />rate changes to take effect on July 1, 2009. <br /> <br />1. Paul Smith, 4039 Long Point Boulevard, spoke in opposition to proposed tax <br />Increase. <br />
