<br />January 13. 2009 <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Ms. Psi mas, to concur with the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission that CA-08-10 be approved on first <br />reading, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />(f) Z-08-08 <br /> <br />JEFFRY WILSON - Kathy Warren, Director of Operations for <br />Development for the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing <br />Authority, seeks to rezone a portion of the former Jeffry Wilson Area <br />from Residential Multifamily RM-60 to Neighborhood Commercial C- <br />1-K (Conditional). The rezoning will allow the development of a <br />commercial shopping area. The Comprehensive Plan's Generalized <br />Future Land Use Map recommends Mixed Use Development. <br />Vision Principle: A Robust and Prospering Economy. <br /> <br />1. Deferred from the December 9, 2008 City Council Meeting. Vision <br />Principle: Bold New Directions. <br /> <br />Background: <br />A private non-profit foundation is raising funds for a permanent railroad exhibit or <br />museum to be located on City property in the vicinity of the Downtown Tunnel. Several <br />railroad cars are already there and are in the process of being restored and refurbished. <br />This lease will allow the foundation to proceed forward with developing and operating <br />the desired facility at this location. <br />
