<br /> WHEREAS, Maryview Hospital is presently beginning n
<br />construction to enlarge its facility, and is in need of
<br />land on which to provide parking.

<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of th
<br />Portsmouth, Virginia that the City Manager be and he is
<br />authorized to enter an agreement between the City of Per
<br />and Maryview Hospital providing for an exchange of prope
<br />upon such terms and conditions as he deems to be in the
<br />interests of the City, and more specifically providing t
<br />City of POrtsmouth will convey to the Industrial Develop
<br />Authority of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that parc
<br />shown and designated as Figure 1 on a plat entitled "Pla
<br />Property ~o Be Conveyed To Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth
<br />Virginia," dated May 1, 1990, made by Hassell & Folkes,
<br />Engineers., Surveyors & Planners, Chesapeake, Virginia, a
<br />providing that the Industrial Development Authority of t
<br />Portsmouth, Virginia, will convey said property to Maryv
<br />Hospital.

<br />construct%on is nearing completion, the Public Works D~p~rtment
<br />has determined that $10,000 of the project contingency fL nds may
<br />be used for landscaping~

<br />The Department of Forestry is currently accepting oposals
<br />for tree installation and education programs. If awar to the
<br />City,-th~s grant will match the $10~000 City contribut with an
<br />additional $10,000. The educational portion of the gr will
<br />involve placing informational brochures on tree care a )lanting
<br />in the Ch~rchland High School library, and having seve tree
<br />related i~formational seminars presented to the studenllll
