Next Steps Following Council Action: . The City Manager has ultimate responsibility and authority for the implementation of the Capital Improvement Program. The Chief Financial Officer has day-to-day responsibility for ensuring the CIP is spent as appropriated by City Council. Motion by Mr. Heretick, and seconded by Ms. Randall, to adopt the following ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: "ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $21,680,729 IN THE FY 2008-2009 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND AND $ 19,280,000 IN THE FY 2008-2009 PUBLIC UTILITIES CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND." Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, D. Smith Nays: R. Smith, Holley - New Business - 08 - 234 - Boards and Commissions There were no appointments. 08 - 235 - Items Submitted by Council Members '" Ms. Psimas called on the Manager to give an update to the public regarding the Sound Wall Legislation in Congress. . City Manager Chandler informed citizens that the federal legislation to achieve money for the sound wall has passed both Houses of Congress and is on its way to the President for signature. '" Mr. Moody informed citizens that $340,000 will be appropriated for the Cradock revitalization effort and also when Council discusses reprogramming of funds in the coming weeks Cradock will get further consideration along with other needs in the City. '" Mr. D. Smith reminded citizens that the City Council is aware of the issues in the community that may not have been included in this budget, and that direction has been given to Management Staff to further study these issues and honor these commitments. He also wanted citizens to know that the City Council will continue to honor their commitment to Public Safety. '" Vice Mayor Randall reminded citizens of the Community Meeting, 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 19, 2008 at I. C. Norcom High School.
