Smith <br /> <br />08 - 233 - Adoption of an ordinance to appropriate $21,680,729 in the Capital <br />Improvement Fund and $19,280,000 in the Public Utilities Capital Improvement Fund for <br />the Fiscal Year beginning July 1, 2008 and ending June 30, 2009. Vision Principles: <br />Bold New Directions, World Class Maritime Center, Thriving Neighborhoods and a <br />Sense of Community, A Robust and Prospering Economy, Lifelong Learning <br />Community, and Pride of Past Promise of Future. <br /> <br />Background: <br />. The City Manager presented the Proposed Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for <br />2009 through 2013, and the funding for year one appropriating the necessary funds in <br />the Capital Improvement Fund and the Public Utilities Capital Improvement Fund. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />. Public hearings and work sessions have been held on April 7, April 8, April 15, <br />April 22, May 12 and 13, 2008 to receive public comments on the five-year CIP, and on <br />funding for year one of the CIP. <br />. Years 2010 through 2013 of the CIP are un-appropriated years used for long- <br />term planning purposes and are approved as planning years. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br />. The sums of $21,680,729 in the Capital Improvement Fund and $19,280,000 in <br />the Public Utilities Capital Improvement Fund are appropriated for expenditures in the <br />following categories and amounts: <br />
