Smith <br /> <br />08 - 38 - Adoption of an ordinance to appropriate $88,241 in the FY 2007-2008 <br />Behavioral Healthcare Services Fund Operating Budget for the purchase of vehicles <br />and computer equipment. Vision Principle: Thriving Neighborhoods and a Sense of <br />Community. <br /> <br />Background: <br />. Each year the General Assembly considers and approves Cost Of Living <br />Adjustments (COLA) relative to available state funding. The General Assembly <br />approved $88,241 in 2008 COLA funds for the City of Portsmouth's Department of <br />Behavioral Healthcare Services (BHS). <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />. COLA funds are state general funds that will be used for the purchase of <br />additional computer equipment and vehicles for BHS. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br />. There is no financial impact to the city. <br /> <br />Staff Recommends: <br />Adoption of ordinance. Vision Principle: Thriving Neighborhoods and a Sense of <br />Community. <br /> <br />Next Steps Following Council Action: <br />. If the requested appropriation is approved, the Director of BHS will ensure the <br />proper dispersal of funds. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. D. Smith, and seconded by Mr. Heretick, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE AN ADDITIONAL $88,241 IN THE FY 2007-2008 <br />BEHAVIORAL HEAL THCARE SERVICES FUND OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE <br />PURCHASE OF VEHICLES AND COMPUTER EQUIPMENT." <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, D. Smith, R. Smith, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- New Business - <br /> <br />08 - 39 - Boards and Commissions <br /> <br />Ms. Randall offered the following nominations: <br /> <br />BEHAVIORAL HEAL THCARE SERVICES ADVISORY BOARD <br /> <br />Sharon Moore to be appointed to fill a term ending June 30,2009, replacing Kevin <br />Brown. <br /> <br />MAYOR'S COMMITTEE FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES <br /> <br />Davy Smith to be appointed to fill a term ending June 30,2009, replacing Warren Mills. <br /> <br />MUSEUM AND FINE ARTS COMMISSION <br /> <br />George Scott to be appointed to fill a three year term ending October 31, 2010, <br />replacing Grace Armistead. <br />
