Smith, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />08 - 40 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />~ Ms. Psimas gave an update on the Memorandum of Understanding that is being <br />worked on between the Todi Music Festival and the City. <br /> <br />~ Vice Mayor Randall made an appeal to the public to volunteer and become involved <br />in the City's boards and commissions. <br /> <br />~ Mr. Moody wanted it to be known that he would not support a contract that would <br />obligate the City to provide funding for the Todi Music Fest. <br /> <br />08 - 41 - Report on Pending Items <br /> <br />There were no pending items. <br /> <br />08 - 42 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. Patricia Edgerton, 4504 West Norfolk Road, voiced her concern with the delay in <br />getting funding for the sound wall on 1-164. <br /> <br />2. Christopher Riley, 201 Riverside Drive, thanked Council and citizens for the show of <br />support regarding the excellent job the Fire Department did in containing the fire at <br />Zion Baptist Church. He also wanted to inform Council and citizens of the <br />responsibilities of the Fire Department and asked that Council provide a pay raise for <br />public safety in the budget. <br /> <br />3. William Connolly, 475 Water Street, Unit 201, voiced his opposition to repealing the <br />boat tax. <br /> <br />4. Reggie Allen, 1421 Wilcox Avenue, made an inquiry with regards to the money that <br />had been appropriated to build a new fire station at Elliott Avenue and Deep Creek <br />Boulevard. (Dr. L. Patton explained that the funds had been previously <br />reprogrammed. ) <br /> <br />5. Clifford Kalmbach, 3702 Magnolia Drive, voiced his concern with the decline in the <br />quality of life in the City. <br /> <br />6. Martha Ann Creecy, 317 Dinwiddie Street, wanted to let Council know that the Olde <br />Towne Business Association did not discuss nor was there an official vote taken <br />supporting the repealing of the boat tax at their last meeting. <br /> <br />7.
