Vision Principle: Thriving
Neighborhoods and a Sense of Community; Bold New Directions.

Background:
. The Portsmouth Police Department has received grant funding of $600 from the
Officer Down Memorial Page, Inc. Memorial Grant Program to provide partial funding for
the Portsmouth Law Enforcement memorial.

Discussion:
. The Officer Down Memorial Page, Inc. (ODMP), Grant Program is designed to
assist law enforcement agencies with limited funding to create a lasting memorial to
their officers who have been killed in the line of duty.

. The grant will be used to partially pay for the Portsmouth Law Enforcement
memorial.

Financial Impact:
. These grant funds require no local cash match and there IS no continuing
obligation from the City once the grant has ended.

Staff Recommends:
Adoption of ordinance. Vision Principles: Thriving Neighborhoods and a Sense of
Community; and Bold New Directions.
