<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the
<br />City Manager be, and he hereby is authorized to execute a deed, or deeds, releasing
<br />and vacating storm drainage easements on the site of that property now known as
<br />Tower Mall in such manner, and at such times as he deems appropriate and in the best
<br />interest of the City."

<br />00 - 313 - Adoption of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to convey several
<br />parcels along Turnpike Road to the Commonwealth of Virginia for improvements to be
<br />made to Turnpike Road by the Virginia Department of Transportation along with
<br />necessary easements.
<br />
<br />Recommendation:
<br />
<br />· Adoption of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to convey several parcels
<br />along Turnpike Road to the Commonwealth of Virginia for improvements to be made to
<br />Turnpike Road by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) along with
<br />necessary easements.
<br />
<br />Purpose and Need:
<br />
<br />· This road is being improved by VDOT to provide for an improved transportation
<br />corridor for the City at the request of the City.
<br />
<br />Financial Impact:
<br />
<br />· These properties will be conveyed to the Commonwealth for construction without
<br />compensation, and then the entire improved Turnpike Road will be conveyed back to
<br />the City upon completion.
<br />
<br /> Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to adopt the following
<br />resolution, and was adopted by the following vote:

<br />"A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY SEVERAL
<br />PARCELS OF LAND TO THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA FOR TURNPIKE
<br />ROAD IMPROVEMENTS WITH NECESSARY TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION
<br />EASEMENTS AND THE GRANTING OF SUCH UTILITY EASEMENTS AS MAY BE
<br />NECESSARY TO THE PROJECT.

<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the
<br />City manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey to the Commonwealth of
<br />Virginia the following described parcels, to-wit:

<br /> Parcel 1. All that certain piece, or parcel of land, lying situate in the
<br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, being designated as Parcel 147 on
<br />Sheet 15 of the plans for Route 337, State Highway Project 0337-124-
<br />V04, RW-201, along with a temporary construction easement, and containing
<br />0.022 acres, more or less.
<br />
<br /> Parcel 2. All that certain piece, or parcel of land, lying situate in the
<br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, being designated as Parcel 103 on
<br />Sheets 11 and 12 of the plans for Route 337, State Highway Project 0337-124-
<br />V04, RW-201, containing 0.381 acres, more or less, along with a temporary
<br />construction easement of 0.187 acres, more or less.
<br />
<br /> Parcel 3. All that certain piece, or parcel of land, lying situate in the
<br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, being designated as Parcel 205 on
<br />Sheet 10 of the plans for Route 337, State Highway Project 0337-124-
<br />V04, RW-201, containing 0.004 acres, more or less, along with a easement
<br />for construction of a drop inlet for drainage of 0.009 acres, more or less.
