Smith, R. Smith, Holley
Nays: None

07 - 314 - Adoption of an ordinance appropriating $25,000 in the FY 2007-2008 Parking
Authority Capital Projects Fund For Willett Hall parking lot improvements. Vision
Principle: Thriving Neighborhoods and a Sense of Community.

Background:
. The Willett Hall parking is primarily used by Maryview Hospital patients and staff,
and is in need of various aesthetic repairs.
. Maryview Hospital currently rents 200 spaces in the Willett Hall parking lot and
has requested to increase the number of rented spaces to 300.

Discussion:
. The City renegotiated the Maryview Hospital contract in the Spring of 2007.
. During the negotiations, it was agreed that the fee per rented space would
increase and that the City would make capital improvements to the parking lot.
. Work completed will include resealing the lot, striping the parking spaces, and
install a short section of pavement to connect the two parking areas in order to meet the
300 space requirement.
. Administering the project requires that staff create a new capital project in the
Parking Authority Capital Projects Fund to complete the above stated work.

Financial Impact:
. Bids have been received for the proposed improvements, which are estimated at
a total cost not to exceed $25,000. The funding source will be from revenues generated
through the site parking fees.

Staff Recommends:
Adoption of proposed ordinance. Vision Principle: Thriving Neighborhoods and a
Sense of Community.

Next Steps Following Council Action:
. The CFO will ensure the supplemental appropriation is processed and the
Department of Engineering will proceed with completing the parking lot improvements.

Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Mr. R. Smith, to adopt the following
ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote:

"ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $25,000 IN THE FY 2007-2008 PARKING
AUTHORITY CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND FOR WILLETT HALL PARKING LOT
IMPROVEMENTS."

Ayes: Heretick, Psi mas, D.
