<br />July 10. 2007 <br /> <br />(f) HP-07-06 <br /> <br />NEWPORT - L. M. Sandler and Sons, Inc. requests a housing <br />permit to develop 184 townhouse-style homes in conjunction with <br />the New Port Housing development. Vision Principle: Thriving <br />Neighborhoods and a Sense of Community. <br /> <br />There were no speakers. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Psi mas, and seconded by Mr. R. Smith, to concur with the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission that HP-07 -06 be approved on first <br />reading, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Psi mas, R. Smith, D. Smith, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />(g) HP-07-07 <br /> <br />RIVER POINTE - Gee's Group Development Corporation requests <br />a housing permit to develop a 147 single-family and duplex-style <br />condominium units on a 22.5 acre parcel located at the corner of <br />River Pointe Parkway and West Norfolk Road. Vision Principle: <br />Thriving Neighborhoods and a Sense of Community. <br /> <br />1. Robert Barclay, 200 High Street, Suite 500, spoke in support of this item. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Mr. Heretick, to concur with the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission that HP-07 -06 be approved on first <br />reading, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Psi mas, R. Smith, D. Smith, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- City Manager's Report - <br /> <br />07 - 313 - Adoption of an ordinance accepting a grant in the amount of $25,000 from the <br />Business Consortium for the Arts and appropriating said sum in the FY 2007-2008 <br />Grants Fund for use by the Department of Museums for exhibits and programming at <br />the Courthouse Galleries. <br /> <br />Background: <br />. Each year the Courthouse Galleries applies to the Business Consortium for Arts <br />Support for a general operating support grant. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />. The funds are utilized for the operating support of exhibits and programs at the <br />Courthouse Galleries. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br />. There is no financial impact on the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br />Staff Recommends: <br />Adoption of a proposed ordinance. Vision Principle: Lifelong Learning Community. <br /> <br />Next Steps Following Council Action: <br />. Pending approval, the Director of Museums and the Curator of the Courthouse <br />Galleries will ensure that the funds are utilized for exhibits and programs. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Mr. R.
