June 12. 2007 (b) That Amendment No. 39 meets the requirements of a plan for an urban renewal project pursuant to Chapter 1 of Title 36 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended. 2. That Amendment No. 39, having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby approved and adopted, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said Amendment with the minutes of this meeting." Smith, Holley Nays: None 07 - 266 - Adoption of a resolution approving Amendment #1 to the Redevelopment Plan for the Centre AvenuelOak Street Redevelopment Project. Vision Principle: Thriving Neighborhoods and a Sense of Community. Background: . The Centre AvenuelOak Street Redevelopment Plan was adopted in December, 2005 to implement the 2006 Habitat for Humanity Blitz. Discussion: . Proposed Amendment Number 1 designates SIX properties as "Not To Be Acquired" . . These properties were originally to be acquired for the Habitat Blitz but PRHA determined that the owners were already in the process of constructing new housing. The Authority agreed not to acquire if the owners completed construction. . The owners have subdivided the six properties into two buildable lots and completed construction of two new homes on the lots. . Adoption of this Resolution will eliminate a cloud on title to the properties. Financial Impact: . There is no financial impact on the City. Staff Recommends: Adoption of proposed resolution. Pending approval, no further action will be taken to acquire the properties and the cloud on title will be removed. Motion by Ms. Psi mas, and seconded by Ms. Randall, to adopt the following resolution, and was adopted by the following vote: "RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO.1 TO THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE CENTRE AVENUEIOAK STREET REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT. WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted on December 13, 2005, approved the Centre AvenuelOak Street Redevelopment Plan (Plan) for the Centre AvenuelOak Street Redevelopment Project; and WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for consideration and approval a copy of an amended Plan (Amendment No.1) consisting of 13 pages and two exhibits for the project area; and WHEREAS, Amendment No.1 proposes to designate six properties as "Not To Be Acquired"; and WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed by the provisions of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, including those prohibiting discrimination because of race, age, color, religion, familial status, handicap, sex or national origin; and
