<br />March 13. 2007 <br /> <br />Next Steps following City Council Action: <br />. The City Manager will execute the Deed conveying the property subject to such <br />easements as may be necessary to be reserved for any City infrastructure lying within <br />said parcel, and any other necessary instruments to convey to the Economic <br />Development Authority of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia a parcel of land designated as <br />Tax Parcel 0133-0092, and to do any and all acts necessary to effect said conveyance. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Heretick, to adopt the following <br />resolution, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A DEED AND <br />OTHER NECESSARY INSTRUMENTS TO CONVEY TO ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA A <br />PARCEL OF LAND LOCATED ON FREDERICK BOULEVARD NEAR THE <br />INTERSECTION OF GEORGE WASHINGTON HIGHWAY AND DESIGNATED AS <br />TAX PARCEL 0133-0092. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the <br />City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to execute a deed and other necessary <br />instruments to convey to Economic Development Authority of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia a parcel of land located on Frederick Boulevard near the intersection of George <br />Washington Highway and designated as Tax Parcel 0133-0092, a copy of which Tax <br />Map is attached hereto, and to do any and all acts necessary to effect said <br />conveyance." <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, D. Smith, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- New Business - <br /> <br />07 - 121 - Boards and Commissions <br /> <br />There were no appointments. <br /> <br />07 - 122 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />'" Ms. Psimas gave an update on the Support for Civic Organizations. <br /> <br />07 - 123 - Report on Pending Items <br /> <br />'" City Manager James B. Oliver provided Council with a report that included <br />recommendations with regards to pay for employees. <br /> <br />07 - 124 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. Captain Matthew Satterlee, Salvation Army Portsmouth, thanked the city for its <br />contributions to the Salvation Army. <br /> <br />2. Joe Wright, 1451 Welcome Road, member of the Cavalier Manor Civic, wanted to <br />inform Council that the Police Community Relations Committee and the United Civic <br />League of Cavalier Manor are in favor of increased pay for Portsmouth police <br />officers. <br /> <br />3. Patricia Edgerton, 4504 West Norfolk Road, voiced her concern with regards to <br />funding resources for the sound wall along 1-164. <br /> <br />4. Lorenzo Akins, 10 Riverreach Close, voiced his concern with what will be a decline <br />in the quality of life for residents if the sound wall along 1-164 is not built. <br />
