<br />January 9. 2007 <br /> <br />07 - 19 - Adoption of an ordinance to appropriate an additional $4,000 in the FY 2006- <br />2007 Behavioral Healthcare Services Fund Operating Budget for emergency <br />preparedness and response activities. Vision Principle: Thriving Neighborhoods and a <br />Sense of Community. <br /> <br />Background: <br />. DMHMRSAS has allocated funds to CSBs to develop terrorism and emergency <br />preparedness including training supplies, purchase services and equipment for <br />emergency response. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />. DBHS has utilized funds in previous years to develop the Emergency <br />Preparedness plan and purchased emergency equipment for its sites of operation. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br />. There is no financial impact to the City. The additional funds will expand the <br />services being delivered. <br /> <br />Staff Recommends: <br />Adoption of proposed ordinance. Vision Principle: Thriving Neighborhoods and a <br />Sense of Community. <br /> <br />Next Steps Following Council Action: <br />. Pending approval, the Director of BHS will ensure the funds are utilized in an <br />appropriate manner. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. R. Smith, and seconded by Mr. Heretick, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE AN ADDITIONAL $4,000 IN THE FY 2006-2007 <br />BEHAVIORAL HEAL THCARE SERVICES FUND OPERATING BUDGET FOR <br />EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE ACTIVITIES." <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, D. Smith, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />07 - 20 - Adoption of an ordinance to appropriate an additional $85,824 in the FY 2006- <br />2007 Behavioral Healthcare Services Fund Operating Budget for the purchase of <br />computer equipment and vehicles. Vision Principle: Thriving Neighborhoods and a <br />Sense of Community. <br /> <br />Background: <br />. Every year the General Assembly considers and approved COLA relative to state <br />funding being available for that purpose. For the year 2006-2007 the General Assembly <br />approved $85,824 for the City of Portsmouth DBHS. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />. COLA funds are state general funds that are used for the purchase of additional <br />computer equipment and vehicles for DBHS. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br />.
