The applicants or any successors in interest shall <br /> construct and maintain, at no cost to the City, a six <br /> (6) foot high wooden privacy fence on the applicants' <br /> property so as to separate applicants' property from <br /> portions of the subdivisions of Willow Breeze and <br /> Merrifields, Section 9. Said fence shall extend <br /> along the eh%ire length of the applicants' property <br /> line from 10 Gateway Court to t Hardwood Court, as <br /> generally shown on Exhibit A, attached hereto and <br /> made a.part hereof and shall also extend across the <br /> land situated between the two above-mentioned roadway <br /> terminations. <br /> <br />(h) The applicants shall comply with all applicable <br /> codes, ordinances, and regulations of federal, state, <br /> and local governments and shall obtain all necessary <br /> licenses and permits." <br /> <br /> Griffin, Pitts, Webb <br /> <br /> 93-191 (n) Ordinance to amend the Code of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, by amending Sections <br />30-237(b) thereof, pertaining to retirement. <br /> <br />the City of <br />30-117(g) and <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Epperson, and seconded by Mr. Hawks, the <br />following ordinance was adopted and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1988, BY AMENDING SECTIONS 30-117(g) AND 30-237(b) <br />THEREOF, PERTAINING TO RETIREMENT~ <br /> <br />Ayes: Epperson, Griffin, Hawks, King, Pitts, Webb <br />Nays: Clemons <br /> <br />- CITY MANAGER'S REPORT - <br /> <br /> 93-207 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption <br />of an ordinance to appropriate $303,125 from the Capital <br />Improvements Fund for cover soil at the Craney Island Landfill <br />and award of the bid to the lowest responsible bidder, Whit <br />Williams, Inc. <br /> <br /> "The 1992/93 Capital Improvement Plan authorized continued <br />funding for the closure of an 85 acre section of Craney Island <br />Landfill. Virginia Waste Management regulations require <br />disposed material to be covered on a daily basis with an <br />intermediate cover material before a final cover material is <br />applied. <br /> <br /> Bids for the daily cover soil have been received and a <br />listing of bidders is attached for your review. The Director <br />of General Operations recommends that the low bidder, Whit <br />Williams, Inc., be awarded the bid in the amount of $242,500 <br />plus an additional 25% added for contingencies. <br /> <br /> I concur with this recommendation and request <br />appropriation in,the amount of $303,125. With your approval of <br />this item, the balance in the Capital Improvements Fund will be <br />$12~546,204." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Clemons and seconded by Mr. Pitts, the <br />following ordinance was adopted and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $303,125.00 FROM THE CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENTS FUND FOR COVER MATERIAL FOR THE CRANEY ISLAND <br />LANDFILL" <br /> <br /> <br />
