<br /> Motion of Mr. Epperson and seconded by l~r. ~rlz~in, the
<br />following resolution was adopted and by the following vete:

<br /> ~'A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY PROPERTY
<br />KNu%~ aS 242 ELM AveNUE TO PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING
<br />AUTHORITY.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth is the owner of two Oarcels
<br />of land located at 242 Elm Avenue, which it no longer needs for
<br />its public purposes; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth desires to convey said
<br />property to the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Rousing Authority for
<br />purposes of economic and community development of the City.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br />Portsmouth, Virginia~ nhat the City Manager be, and he is hereby
<br />authorized ~o execute a deed of conveyance with Special Warranty
<br />to Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority for properny
<br />known as 242 Elm Avenue, Portsmouth, Virginia, which said property
<br />is more particularly bounded and described as follows, to-wit:

<br />Ail that certain lot, pzece or parcel of land, with
<br />the buildings and mmprovements thereon, situate,
<br />lying and being ~n the City of Portsmouth,
<br />Virginia, known, numbered and designated as
<br />Disposition Parcel !0A, as shown on a certaln plat
<br />entitled: "Plat Showing Survey of Disposition
<br />Parcel !0A, Block 16, Portsmouth, Virgln~a, for
<br />
<br />Park View Conservation & Redevelopment Project VA
<br />~-48," dated October 19, 1976, prepared by E.
<br />Stuart Ball & Associates, Ltd., Surveyors-Planners,
<br />Portsmouth, Virginia~ duly recorded in the Clerk's
<br />Office of the Circuit Court of the City of
<br />Portsmouhh in Deed Book 733 at page 52.

<br />Addison & Associates, Ltd., Surveying-Engineering~
<br />Portsmouth, Virg~nza, duly recorded in the Clerk's
<br />Office of the Circuit Court cf the City of

<br />93-230 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of a
<br />moticn to transfer S29,000 from the Grants Contingency Acco .... for
<br />Portsmouth's homeless shelters.
<br />
<br /> "I am pleased to inform you that the Peoartment of Rousing
<br />and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded Portsmouth $29,000 through
<br />the Emergency Shelter Grant Program. The funds are taroeted to
<br />assist Portsmouth's homeless shelters in providing much needed
<br />assistance to the homeless.
