<br />July 27, 1993, there were present:

<br /> Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Lee E. King, Johnny M.
<br />Clemons, John H. Epperson, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James C.
<br />Hawks, Cameron C. Pitts, V. Wayne Orton, City Manager, Stuart E.
<br />Katz, City Attorney.

<br />Fairwood Agape Church, opened the
<br />followed by the Pledge of
<br />
<br /> Mayor Webb called the meeting to order and welcomed all in
<br />attendance.
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mr. King, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, the minutes
<br />of a called meeting on July 12, 1993; a Regular Meeting on July
<br />12, 1993; a Called Meeting on .July 13, 1993; and a Regular
<br />Meeting on July 13, 1993, to be approved and was adopted and by
<br />unanimous vote.

<br />93-293 Proclamation presented to Anne Green, Reggie Allen and
<br />other National Night Out Committee members for "National Night
<br />Out".

<br />93-294 - Non-Agenda Speakers
<br />
<br />1. Anne Green, 641 Douglas Avenue, representing the Federation
<br />of Civic Clubs, spoke on Tax Exempt status on personal property
<br />tax on vehicles for persons 65 and older/disabled.
<br />
<br />2. Helen Person, 1314 Green Street, spoke on lead in Washington
<br />Park.
<br />
<br />3. L. L. Southa11, 931 Vermont Avenue, representing the
<br />Progressive Civic League, spoke on traffic safety on Glasgow
<br />Street.
<br />
<br />4. J. Brewer Moore, 308 Bobby Jones Drive, representing the
<br />Hodges Manor Civic League, spoke on term limitations.
<br />
<br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Epperson, to
<br />suspend Council rules to have Anne Green speak before Council,
<br />the motion was denied by a vote of 3-4 (Griffin, Hawks, King,
<br />Webb).

<br />5. Mary Drummond, 1538 Blair Street, spoke on an investigation
<br />for the death of an iD-mate while incarcerated in the City Jail.
<br />
<br />6. Gloria Ford, 5742 Rivermill Circle, spoke on an
<br />investigation for the death of an inmate while incarcerated in
<br />the City Jail.

<br />7. Minister Rafiq Zaidi,

<br />incarcerated in the City Jail.

<br />for the death of an inmate while incarcerated in the City Jail.

<br />9. Diahann Linton, 59 Riverview Avenue, spoke on CO~L=LLon
<br />courtesy for family members of inmate that died while
<br />incarcerated in the City Jail.
<br />
<br />10. Sherry Garth, 3006 Nathan Court, spoke on an investigation
<br />for the death of an inmate in the City Jail.
<br />
<br />11. Charlie Riddick, 718 Henry Street, spoke on real estate tax
<br />assessments for the residents of the Superfund sites.
