S. Environmental Protection Agency <br />(EPA). The grant requires no local match. <br /> <br /> The City of Portsmouth's LEPC will obtain a number of <br />immediate benefits from participation in the grant, including: <br /> <br />1. An updated chemical Emergency Response Pl&n. <br /> <br /> 2. Strengthened local, regional, state, and federal/ <br />military relationshipsforchemical emergency .response <br />preparedness. <br /> <br /> 3. Additional support for the Hazardous Material Regional <br />Response Team. <br /> <br /> 4. Improved citizen understanding of Emergency Planning <br />and Conununity "Right to Know." <br /> <br /> I recommend the approval of this request for transfer of <br />$10,000 from the Grants Contingency Account," <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. King, to transfer <br />$10,000 from the Grants Contingency Account for the Local <br />Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), and was adopted by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Epperson, Griffin, Hawks, King, Pitts, Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />93-331 - Mr. Epperson offered the following nominations for <br />appointments to the following Boards and Commissions: <br /> <br />Board of Electrical Examiners <br /> <br />Samuel G. Walker to be appointed to fill an unexpired term <br />ending March 1, 1994, replacing Robert E. Jennings. <br /> <br />Eme~qenc¥ Medical Services Advisory Co~ission <br /> <br />Drema A. Hymon to be appointed for a term ending July 31, 1996, <br />replacing Dr. Leocadio B. Penalosa, Jr. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Epperson, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to <br />close the nominations, and there being no further nominations, <br />the above were approved by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. King, and seconded by Mr. Epperson, to go <br />into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section <br />2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Consideration of the acquisition of real property for <br />public use and the use of publicly held real property in the <br />southern portion of the City as permitted under Subsection {A) <br />(3) . <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> <br />
