These <br />funds will be used to develop intensive in-home services, <br />personal care assistance, therapeutic foster homes and respite <br />care services. <br /> <br /> This trust fund has increased the level of involvement from <br />the public and private community agencies since this act has <br />been implemented. Portsmouth was selected as an intensive <br />evaluation site and as a result will be utilizing many <br />evaluation tools as designed by the State Team. No local cash <br />match is required. <br /> <br /> I, therefore, recommend you approve a motion to transfer <br />$255,600 from the Grants Contingency Account." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Hawks, to <br />transfer $255,600 for community service programs, and was <br />adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Epperson, Griffin, Hawks, King, Pitts, Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />93-400 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of a <br />motion to transfer $58,326 from the Grants Contingency Account <br />to establish a Teen Pregnancy Prevention office in the City of <br />Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> "The Executive Director of the Community Services Board has <br />informed me that they have received a grant from the Portsmouth <br />General Hospital Foundation in the amount of $58,326 to <br />establish a Teen Pregnancy Prevention Coordinator's office for <br />the City of Portsmouth. This office will be staffed by a full <br />time coordinator and part-time secretary. The przmary <br />objectives of the program are to establish, implement and <br />evaluate a comprehensive citywide strategic action plan for the <br />reduction of teen pregnancy in Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> <br />
