<br />February 28. 2006 <br /> <br />(i) The project shall be developed and maintained in compliance with all <br />applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations of federal, state, and local governments, <br />and all required licenses and permits shall be obtained and remain in effect during the <br />development of this project. <br /> <br />3. EXPIRATION OF PERMIT: Unless extended as provided under Section <br />40-115 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (1988), the group housing use <br />permit shall expire for any portion of the approved project for which building permits <br />have not been issued if the applicant fails to apply for all building permits for the entire <br />project within one year of the adoption of this resolution. <br /> <br />4. REVOCATION OF PERMIT: Violation of any of the above conditions may <br />serve as grounds for revocation of the permit by the City Council." <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- City Manager's Report - <br /> <br />06 - 106 - Adoption of an ordinance to appropriate the $1,000.00 from the Sam's Club <br />Foundation for education of children in bicycle and pedestrian safety. No cash match <br />is required. Vision Principle: Neighborhood and Community Transformation. <br /> <br />Background: <br />. The Portsmouth Police Department has received grant funding of $1 ,000.00 from <br />the Sam's Club foundation for the Safe Heroes Program. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />. These funds will be given to Safety Town to be used to educate children in <br />bicycle and pedestrian safety. <br />. Financial Impact: There is no local cash match required. <br /> <br />Staff Recommends: <br />Adoption of an Ordinance to appropriate the $1,000.00 from the Sam's Club Foundation <br />for education of children in bicycle and pedestrian safety. No cash match is required. <br />Vision Principle: Neighborhood and Community Transformation. <br /> <br />Next Steps Following Council Action: <br />. The Chief of Police or his designee will provide grant management and oversight. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Ms. Psimas, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,000 FROM THE <br />SAM'S CLUB FOUNDATION AND APPROPRIATING THE SAME AMOUNT IN THE <br />FY 2005-2006 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AT <br />SAFETY TOWN FOR CHILD BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN SAFETY EDUCATION." <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />06 - 107 - Adoption of an ordinance authorizing the City Manager to re-appropriate <br />$299,453 in the Public Utilities Capital Budget for the engineering and construction of <br />various projects to maintain the City's utility system. Vision Principle: Neighborhood and <br />Community Transformation. <br />
