December 13, 2005 <br /> <br />1. Raeford Eure, 901 Port Centre Parkway, spoke in support of this item. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to concur with the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission that Z-05-14 be approved on first reading, <br />and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- Speakers Forum - <br /> <br />05 - 565 Public Comment (Agenda/Non-Agenda). <br /> <br />1. Jack Tynch, 850 Crawford Parkway, followed up on the Educational Metric Letter <br />that was drafted and sent to the members of Council and School Board by giving a <br />progress report on the school system. He also thanked the Council for their <br />continued support of the school system. <br /> <br />2. Anne Bremer, 256 Constitution Avenue, spoke in support of Item 05-582 under the <br />City Manager’s Report. <br /> <br />3. Helen Person, 600 Rutter Street, Apt. B, thanked Councilwoman Psimas, <br />Councilwoman Randall and Mr. Terry Morrison for coming out to her home to view <br />the lack of outdoor water in the Westbury community. She also gave Council an <br />update on the progress as to when the additional water faucets would be placed <br />outside in the Westbury community. Again, she suggested to Council ways in which <br />money can be managed to pay for such projects as curbs and guttering. <br /> <br />4. J. Brewer Moore, 308 Bobby Jones Drive, presented the Grand Union Flag to the <br />Mayor and reminded Council and citizens of the raising of the flag on December 31, <br />2005 at 4:00 p.m. at the conclusion of the Olde Towne Scottish Walk. <br /> <br />5. Justine Verville, 600 Crawford Street, voiced his concern on the relocation of City <br />offices from 600 Crawford Street and wanted to know why the offices relocated. <br /> <br />6. Luther Anderson, 4910 Johnson Avenue, made Council aware of the lack of street <br />lights along Clifford Street. He also asked for street sweeper service on City Park <br />Avenue. <br /> <br />7. Todd Fiorella, 8578 Circle Drive, Norfolk, spoke in opposition to Item 05-581 under <br />the City Manager’s Report. <br /> <br />st <br />8. Kevin Martingayle, 211 61 Street, Virginia Beach, spoke in opposition to Item 05- <br />581 under the City Manager’s Report. <br /> <br />9. Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, 363 Middle Street, spoke in opposition to Items 05-566, <br />05-579, 05-580, and 05-581, and in support of Item 05-574, under the City <br />Manager’s Report. <br /> <br />10. Leon Pajak, 3400 Channel Avenue, spoke in opposition to Item 05-573 under the <br />City Manager’s Report. <br /> <br />11.
