January 11~ 1994 <br /> <br /> "A RESOLUTION ~RANTING A USE PERMIT TO RONALD D. ALEXANDER <br />FOR THE OPERATION OF A WHOLESALE BUSIHESS AT 3550 WESTERN BRANCH <br />BOULEVARD. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ronald D. Alexander has made application pursuant <br />to Section 40-43.1 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, 1988, for the granting of a use permit to operate a <br />wholesale business at 3550 Western Branch Boulevard, Portsmouth <br />Virginia, as hereinafter described; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the applicant and the Planning Director have done <br />all things required to be done in connection with said <br />application; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended the <br />granting of said use permit with conditions. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That the use for which the hereinafter-described permit <br />is sought: <br /> <br />(a) Will not adversely affect the health and safety of persons <br />residing or working in the neighborhood of the proposed use; <br /> <br />(b) Will not be detrimental to the public use or injurious to <br />the property or improvements 'in the neighborhood; <br /> <br />(c) Will be provided with sufficient landscaping to insure <br />compatibility with surrounding uses; <br /> <br />Id) Will be a project that will be developed according to a <br />plan for parking, driveways and curb cuts which will provide for <br />safe and convenient traffic movemen=; and <br /> <br />(e) Will be in accordance with the purposes of the City of <br />Portsmouth Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br /> 2. That Ronald D. Alexander is hereby granted a use <br />permit pursuant to Section 40-43.1 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1988, for the operation of a wholesale <br />business on property located at 3550 Western Branch Boulevard, <br />and being more particularly described as: <br /> <br />UP-93-12 <br /> <br /> Beginning at the northwest intersection of Western Branch <br />Boulevard and Halifax Avenue; thence west along the north <br />~ight-of-way of Western Branch Boulevard 90 feet to a point; <br />thence north 108 feet to a point; thence east 90 feet to the <br />west right-of-way line of Halifax Avenue; thence south along <br />Said right-of-way 108 feet to Western Branch Boulevard, the <br />point of beginning. <br /> <br /> 3. That this use pez~mit is approved subject to the <br />following condition: <br /> <br /> The applicant shall comply with all applicable codes, <br />ordinances and regulations of federal, state and local <br />governments and shall obtain all necessary licenses and <br />permits." <br /> <br />Ayes: Epperson, Griffin, King, Pitts, Webb <br />Nays: No~e <br />~bstained.
