<br />January 25. 2005 <br /> <br />Purpose and Need: <br /> <br />. OCR has approved the grant in the amount of $1 ,628 for the Portsmouth Planning <br />and Zoning Department. <br /> <br />. These funds will be used to reimburse the Department for expenses incurred in the <br />mailing of the Chesapeake Bay informational pamphlets. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br />. There is no match required. <br /> <br />. There is no obligation from the City once this grant has ended. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"ORDINANCE ACCEPTING $1,628 IN FUNDS FROM THE COMMONWEALTH OF <br />VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION AND RECREATION AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID SUM IN THE GRANTS FUND." <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />05 - 39 - Adoption of an ordinance to accept $1,000 from the Walmart-Sam's Club <br />Safe Neighbor Award program and to appropriate this same amount in the Grants <br />Fund for the Portsmouth Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services. <br /> <br />These funds will be used to provide physical fitness equipment for the members <br />of the Department. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />. Adoption of an ordinance to appropriate $1,000 from the Walmart-Sam's Club Safe <br />Neighborhood Heroes grant program and to appropriate this same amount in the <br />Grants Fund for the Portsmouth Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency <br />Services. <br /> <br />Summary: <br /> <br />. These funds will be used to provide physical fitness equipment for the members of <br />the Department. <br /> <br />Purpose and Need: <br /> <br />. Walmart-Sam's Club has awarded the Safe Neighborhood Heroes grant to Station <br />#11 located at 32 Prospect Parkway in Cradock for physical fitness equipment. <br /> <br />. This grant, in the amount of $1000, will be used to purchase physical fitness <br />training equipment for the members of the Department to improve the fitness of our <br />firefighters and emergency response personnel. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br />. There is no local cash match required. <br /> <br />. There is no obligation from the City once this grant has ended. <br />
