AuRust 107 2004 <br /> <br />071 <br /> <br />· There is no obligation from the City once this grant ends. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT APPROVED BY THE SUPREME COURT OF <br />VIRGINIA IN THE AMOUNT OF $182,500 AND APPROPRIATING SAID SUM IN THE <br />GRANTS FUND FOR THE PORTSMOUTH ADULT DRUG TREATMENT COURT." <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- Public Hearing - <br /> <br />04 - 299 - Public hearing on use permit, rezoning, street name change and street <br />closure applications: <br /> <br />(a) UP-04-16 <br /> <br />TRUXTUN NEIGHBORHOOD Noble Street Baptist Church <br />requests a use permit to operate a religious based childcare facility <br />at 100 Noble Street. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Ms. Randall, to concur with the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission that UP-04-16 be approved on first <br />reading, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />(b) Z-04-03 <br /> <br />AIRLINE CORRIDOR - E & S Airline Associates, LLC requests to <br />rezone property at 3535 Airline Boulevard from industrial M-I-R to <br />commercial C-2 and industrial M-1. <br /> <br />1. Jim Ellis, 805 Arnold Palmer Drive, spoke in support of this item. <br /> <br />2. Robert C. Barclay IV, 200 High Street Suite 500, spoke in support of this item. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Ms. Randall, to concur with the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission that Z-04-03 be approved on first reading, <br />and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />(c) SNC-04-01 <br /> <br />SOUTHSIDE NEIGHBORHOOD - Ordinance granting the request <br />of the 3797 Corporation for a street name change of Henry Street <br />between Portcentre Parkway and Eighth Street. The proposed new <br />name would be Premier Place. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Ms. Psimas, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"ORDINANCE TO CHANGE THE NAME OF HENRY STREET TO PREMIER PLACE <br />BETWEEN PORTCENTRE PARKWAY AND SEVENTH STREET, SOMETIMES <br />KNOWN AS EIGHTH STREET AND SOMETIMES KNOWN AS WASHINGTON <br />STREET." <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />(d) S-04-04 <br /> <br />NORTHSIDE (PARKVIEW) NEIGHBORHOOD - Ordinance <br />granting the request of the City of Portsmouth and the Portsmouth <br />School Board to close streets related to the development of the <br />new Park View school site. The street closure request includes <br />portions of Ann Street, Blair Street, Armstrong Street, Holladay <br />Street, Butler Street and Owens Street. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Heretick, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br /> <br />
