This pavement marking program will be <br />used to mark three (3) intersections in Portsmouth which have <br />experienced an increase in traffic accidents, especially during <br />night time hours and inclement weather. These intersections <br />are: <br /> <br /> Frederick Boulevard and Turnpike Road <br /> Deep Creek Boulevard and Frederick Boulevard <br /> George Washington Highway and Victory Boulevard <br /> <br /> The DivisiOn of Motor Vehicles has awarded $10,000 in <br />federal funds for this Pavement Striping Program, which <br />supplies the materials needed. The City's required cost will <br />be an in-kind match of $6,241 which represents the labor and <br />equipment costs involved with installing the pavement markings. <br /> <br /> I, therefore, recommend approval of the project, and the <br /> transfer of $10,000 from the Grants Contingency Account to <br /> support the program." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. King, and seconded by Mr. Epperson, to <br />transfer $10,000 for pavement stripping, and was adopted by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Epperson, Griffin, Hawks, King, Pitts, Webb ~ <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />94-89 - Mr. Clemons offered the following nominations for <br />appointments to the following Boards and Commissions: <br /> <br />Southeastern Virqi~a Job Traininq Administration <br /> <br />Mark A.
