<br /> In answer tea request made ef the Beard of Supervisors by. the Board of Aldermen in April last,
<br /> for consent to the erection of an office for Clerk of the Corporation Court and a Council Chamber on
<br /> the Court House yard, the Board declined by letter ef September 15th te grant such request, giving
<br /> as reason therefor that such a building would detract from the leoks~of the groUndS and would ob-
<br /> struct light te the County court room.
<br /> Whereupon, Mr. John Howard Eall-efferred the following resolution:
<br /> With regard te the erection of a building on the Court House yard, it is resolved that the City
<br /> AtSerney investigate the rights of the Oit¥ in the matter, smd if the erection of the proposed build-
<br /> ing depends upon the consent of the Board of Supervisors of Nerfelk County therefor, the City Attor-
<br /> ney be instructed to take such steps in the matter ae may be necessary to protect the City's interest

<br /> On motion ef chairman of the Finance 0ommittee, the Andite~ was instructed to draw a warrant on
<br />the Treasurer for $2,550 or l~ per cent. ef the $170,000 of bonds lately sold., which amount is re-
<br />quired by law for an a~ual sinking fund to redeem bonds sold in 1908 and afterwards.
