<br /> The 0ommittee had no formal report ~o make, but had read the printed proposed sched-
<br />ule for the Norfo~d~ 0ounty Ferries and the notes of the 01erk,taken at a Joint meeting of the 0ity
<br />and County Fer~y committees at a meeting held this day at 3-30 P. ~., concerning the action of said
<br />committee.

<br /> Notes: First, as to rates of toll.
<br />
<br /> The Joint Committee took no further action on this matter. That is to say they adhered to
<br />their previous action,-in making the rates of toll remain as presented in the printed schedule.
<br />
<br /> On motion, said action of the Oommittee was concurred in.
<br />
<br /> Schedule of trips.
<br /> The joint Ferry Committees recommended the following:
<br />
<br /> Trips between PortsmoUth and Norfolk, Portsmouth ~ndB~rkiey and Norfolk and B~rkley to be l0
<br />minutes from 6 o'clock A. ~. until mid-night': £rom mid-night to 6 o'clock A. M.,trips between those
<br />points (except between Portsmouth and Berkley~ were ~o be every 20 minutes.

<br /> This recommendation of the Committee was amended by the following substitute:
<br />
<br /> Beginning with the first six months of the lease twelve minute trips shall be made between
<br />Norfolk and Portsmouth and Norfolk and Berkie~ Ward, from 6 o'clock ~, N. ~o 10 o'eiock P. ~,. and
<br />fifteen minue trips from l0 o'e!oek P, M. to 12 o'clock mid-night; from 12 o'clock mid-night to 6
<br />o'clock A. ~., thirty minute trips between those points.

<br /> After the first six months of the lease ten minute trips shall be made between N~rfotk and
<br /> Portsmouth and-Norfolk and Berkley Ward, from 6 o'clock A. ~ to 12 o'alock mid-night; from i2
<br /> o'clock mid-night to ~ o'clock A. M., thirty minute trips between those paints.

<br /> Between Portsmouth and Berkley Ward for first six'months of the lease there shall be twelve
<br /> minute trips, from 6 o'clock A. E. to l0 o'clock P. ~. After the first six months of the lease
<br /> there shall be ten minute trips between these points, from 6 o'etock A, N. to l0 o'clock ~.
<br /> provided that said trips can be made with one boat, and of this~faet the Joint ~erry Committee of
<br /> the City ~ouneil and the Board of Supervisors shall determine; but should one boat be not able to
<br /> make a ten minute schedule, then the best schedule which can be made with one-boat shall be m~de
<br /> which Shall not, however, be less than twelve minutes, Provided, moreover, that if at any time
<br /> after the first five years of the lease the City ~ouncil and the Board of SUPervisors should
<br /> termine it to be necessary to run a boat between Portsmouth and Berkley Ward, from l0 o'clock
<br /> to 12 o'clock~zid-night, a boat shall be so run, under the conditions named above for running one
<br /> boat after the first six months of the lease.
