<br /> day, Narch }0, 1909, at 12 o'clock M., the property ovmed Jointly by, the Oity and 0ounty tmown as
<br /> the 'Norfolk County Ferries' with its wharves, boats, docks, houses, and appurtenances, for a term
<br /> of ten years beginning April 1, 1909,-according to the conditions agreed upon by the said
<br /> and Board of Supervisors, which conditions were also fully set forth, in the said advertisement; did,
<br /> at -twelve 0~clock M., on the ~hirtieth ~ay of ~aroh, A~ D. nineteen hundred and nine, in front of
<br /> the courthouse door in-the City of ~ortsmouth offer for lease at public auction to the highest bid-
<br /> der, for a term of ten years, subject to, and upon, the terms and ~ondittons so agreed upon and de-
<br /> termined by said Council and Board of Supervisors~nd as above set forth, the said Ferries and p~rop-
<br /> erty as also above set forth and described, and as mentioned in said advertisement;, at which said
<br /> public auc~ien the said Ferrie~ and property were knocked off to R. ~,'Jordan, the said party of the~
<br /> second part, he being the highest bidder for the same, at an annual rental o~ One Hundred and Thir~y-

<br /> AND WEERE~S, at a meeting of said O0~eil, held on the thirtieth day of March, A. D., nine-
<br /> teen hundred and nine, the said R. E.- Clover and H, Z. Watts, the committee appointed by said 0curt-
<br /> ell to advertise and lease-the said Ferries and property, reported said lease to the Council and
<br /> recommended that'the same~be confirmed; whereupon, the said 0ounoil, by resolution then 'adopted,
<br /> confirmed the said lease as made and reported, and did authorize and direet O. W. Walker, President
<br /> of the Board of Aldermen, and W. C. Corbitt, President of ~he Common 0ouncil, and L. P, Slater, 01ty
<br /> Clerk, to execute a proper deed, under the seal of the City of £ortsmouth. for the said Ferries and
<br /> property, to the said R, E. JOrdan, after he, the said R. E, Jordan,~-shall have exeeuted his bond
<br /> in the penalty of One Hundre~ Thousand Dollars as required by the tenth clause of said terms and
<br />
<br /> eonditions.~
<br /> AND~HEREAS, at a meeting of the said B~rd of Supervisors held on the thirty-first day
<br />
<br />of ~arch, A. D. Nineteen hundred and nine, the said ~no. A. Oodd and L. M. Nicholas, the committee
<br />appointed by the said Board of Supervisors to advertise and lease the said Ferries and property, re~
<br />ported said lease to the Board of Supervisors~and recommended that the same be confirmed; whereupon,
<br />the said Board of Supervisors, by resolution then adopted, confirmed the said lease so made and re-
<br />ported, and did authorize and direct ~no. A~ Oodd, Chairman of s~id Board, and Alvah. H. Martin,
<br />its Clerk, to ~xecute a proper deed under the seal of the Board of Supervisors, for said Ferries
<br />and property, to the said E, E. Jordan, after he, the said R. E. Jordan, shall have executed his
<br />bond in the penalty of One Hundred Thousand Dollars, as required by the tenth clause O~ said terms
<br />an~l-eonditions.

<br /> AND ~REAS, the said bond so required by the tenth clause of said terms and condlt~ons
<br />has been duly exeouted~by the said R. E. Jordan. in the penalty of One Hundred Thousand Dollars,
<br />payable to 'the Oity of ~ortsmouth and Norfolk Ooun~y, with good and sufficient security, approved
<br />by the Committees on Finance of the OouneiI-of the City of fortsmouth and of ~the Board of Supervi-
<br />sors of Norfolk 0ounty, conditioned for the faithful performance by~him, the said E, E. Jordan, of
<br />all and every of said terms and conditions, and the provisions of the said lease.
