May~24, 1994 <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Roy Leinart, Thaddeus J. <br />Lawrence, Lester B. Harrington, Harry Fallon and Cornelius <br />Harding, Jr., be appointed viewers, and that John H. Mason and <br />Simon P. Arrington, be appointed alternate viewers, in the <br />event that one of the preceding viewers fail to participate. <br />Said viewers to view the hereinafter-described street and to <br />report to this Council, in writing, whether in their opinion <br />any, and if any, what inconvenience would result in vacating <br />and closing the following: <br /> <br /> All that portion of Duchess Road, formerly known as Duke <br />Street, and incorrectly designated as Duke Road as shown on <br />Plate 118 of the records of the City Assessor for the City of <br />Portsmouth, and lying between the west side of Virginia Avenue <br />and the east side of an alley 140 feet west of Virginia <br />Avenue." <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Epperson, Griffin, Hawks, King, Pitts, Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 94-187 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br /> a motion submitting the quarterly financial report for the <br /> period ended March 31, 1994. <br /> <br /> "In accordance with Section 12-64 of the City Code, the <br /> Quarterly Financial Report for the period ended March 31, 1994 <br /> is herewith submitted. <br /> <br /> Actual revenues to date stand at 61 percent of the revenue <br /> estimated for .the year, and 63 percent of the appropriations <br /> have been expended as of March 31, 1994. During the same <br /> quarter last year 62 percent of the estimated revenues had been <br /> received and expenditures were 68 percent of the budget <br /> appropriations. <br /> <br /> Therefore at this point in time both revenues and <br /> expenditures are lower than last year's. It should be noted <br /> that final results for the fiscal year are dependent in large <br /> part on the personal property assessments and collections in <br /> the last quarter of the year which are unknown at this time." <br /> Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, to <br /> adopt the quarterly financial report for the period ended March <br /> 31, 1994, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes: Clemons, Epperson, Griffin, Hawks, King, Pitts, Webb <br /> Nays: None <br /> <br /> 94-188 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of a <br /> motion to transfer $107,893 from the Grants Contingency Account <br /> for the 1994 Su~er Breakfast and Lunch Program as awarded by <br /> the United States Department of Agriculture. <br /> <br /> <br />
