Jun~ 14, 1994 "AN ORDINANCE TO 'AMEND SECTION 24-255 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA~(1988), BY AMENDING SUBSECTIONS (A) AND (B) THEREOF, AND BY ADDING THERETO SUBSECTIONS (C), (D), (E), (F) (G) AND (H) PERTAINING TO LOUD, DISTURBING AND UNNECESSARY NOISE OR SOUND." Ayes: Hawks, King, Pitts, Webb Nays: Clemons, Griffin 94-216 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of an ordinance to change the following voting locations: $17 James Hurst Elementary School to Cradock United Methodist Church and $31 Woodrow Wilson High School to West Park Church of Christ. "At the request of the Electoral Board, the following voting location changes are submitted for your approval. 1. Precinct %17, James Hurst Elementary School to Cradock United Methodist Church, 24 Channing Avenue. 2. Precinct %31, Woodrow Wilson High School to West Park Church of Christ, 926 Cherokee Road. Both churches have agreed to offer their facilities for election day. I recommend your approval of this item." Motion by Mr. King, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, to adopt the following ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: ,,AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 10 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988), BY AMENDING ARTICLE III SECTION 10-101 AND SECTION I0-114, PERTAINING TO VOTING PLACES FOR PRECINCTS 17 AND 31." Ayes: Clemons, Griffin, Hawks, King, Pitts~ Webb Nays: None 94-217 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of a motion to transfer $20,490 from the Grants Contingency Account to continue a full-time Outreach Worker to follow-up on tuberculosis patients. "The Portsmouth Health Department has been awarded funds to Continue a full-time Outreach Worker to follow up on Tuberculosis patients. With the increase in the number of Tuberculosis cases, some of which are antibiotic resistent, this position is needed to ensure patient compliance with therapy. There are no City matching funds required. I, therefore, recommend your approval of a motion to transfer $20,490 from the Grants Contingency Account." Motion by Mr. King, and Seconded by Mr. Clemons, to transfer $20,490 to continue a full-time Outreach Worker, and was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Clemons, Griffin, Hawks, King, Pitts, Webb Nays: None 94-218 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of a motion to transfer $23,221 from the Grants Contingency Account to provide a full-time support person to the Lead Poison Prevention Program. "The Portsmouth Health Department has been awarded funds to provide full-time support staff to the Lead Poison Prevention Grant. These duties are now performed by a wage employee, but hours are restricted to 1500 hours per year. There are no City matching funds required for this grant.
