Jun~ 14, 1994 <br /> <br /> "AN ORDINANCE TO 'AMEND SECTION 24-255 OF THE CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA~(1988), BY AMENDING SUBSECTIONS <br />(A) AND (B) THEREOF, AND BY ADDING THERETO SUBSECTIONS (C), <br />(D), (E), (F) (G) AND (H) PERTAINING TO LOUD, DISTURBING AND <br />UNNECESSARY NOISE OR SOUND." <br /> <br />Ayes: Hawks, King, Pitts, Webb <br />Nays: Clemons, Griffin <br /> <br />94-216 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />an ordinance to change the following voting locations: $17 <br />James Hurst Elementary School to Cradock United Methodist <br />Church and $31 Woodrow Wilson High School to West Park Church <br />of Christ. <br /> <br /> "At the request of the Electoral Board, the following <br />voting location changes are submitted for your approval. <br /> <br /> 1. Precinct %17, James Hurst Elementary School to Cradock <br />United Methodist Church, 24 Channing Avenue. <br /> <br /> 2. Precinct %31, Woodrow Wilson High School to West Park <br />Church of Christ, 926 Cherokee Road. <br /> <br /> Both churches have agreed to offer their facilities for <br />election day. I recommend your approval of this item." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. King, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, to adopt <br />the following ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br /> ,,AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 10 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY <br />OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988), BY AMENDING ARTICLE III SECTION <br />10-101 AND SECTION I0-114, PERTAINING TO VOTING PLACES FOR <br />PRECINCTS 17 AND 31." <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Griffin, Hawks, King, Pitts~ Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />94-217 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />a motion to transfer $20,490 from the Grants Contingency <br />Account to continue a full-time Outreach Worker to follow-up <br />on tuberculosis patients. <br /> <br /> "The Portsmouth Health Department has been awarded funds <br />to Continue a full-time Outreach Worker to follow up on <br />Tuberculosis patients. With the increase in the number of <br />Tuberculosis cases, some of which are antibiotic resistent, <br />this position is needed to ensure patient compliance with <br />therapy. There are no City matching funds required. <br /> <br /> I, therefore, recommend your approval of a motion to <br />transfer $20,490 from the Grants Contingency Account." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. King, and Seconded by Mr. Clemons, to <br />transfer $20,490 to continue a full-time Outreach Worker, and <br />was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Griffin, Hawks, King, Pitts, Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />94-218 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />a motion to transfer $23,221 from the Grants Contingency <br />Account to provide a full-time support person to the Lead <br />Poison Prevention Program. <br /> <br /> "The Portsmouth Health Department has been awarded funds <br />to provide full-time support staff to the Lead Poison <br />Prevention Grant. These duties are now performed by a wage <br />employee, but hours are restricted to 1500 hours per year. <br />There are no City matching funds required for this grant. <br /> <br /> <br />
