With <br />your approval, the balance in the Capital Improvements Fund <br />will be $11,166,991." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. King, to adopt <br />the following ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br /> "AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $50,000.00 FROM THE CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENTS FUND FOR GENERAL CONTINGENCIES FOR RENOVATIONS AT <br />THE SITE OF THE FUTURE TCC FINE ARTS CENTER, AT THE <br />INTERSECTION OF HIGH AND COURT STREETS." <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Griffin, Hawks, King, Pitts, Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />94-208 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />an ordinance to appropriate $50,000 from the Capital <br />Improvements Fund to continue the on-going program to construct <br />handicapped ramps, and a motion to award the contract to Aldo <br />Construdtion Corporation. <br /> <br /> "Funds are included in the 1993-98 Capital Improvement <br />Plan to continue the on-going program to comply with the <br />Americans with Disabilities Act. Bids were received to <br />construct approximately 115 handicap ramps on existing <br />sidewalk, most of which will be installed on Portsmouth <br />Boulevard. (See Attachment No. 1). <br /> <br />The total anticipated project costs are as follows: <br /> <br />Construction Contract <br />(Aldo Construction Corporation) <br /> <br />$56,200 <br /> <br /> The Director of Public Works recommends that a <br />construction contract be awarded to the low bidder, Aldo <br />Construction Corporation, and that $50,000 be appropriated to <br />complete this work.
