The responsibilities and <br />duties of the Cable Television Commission must be aunended due to <br />the enactment of federal legislation. <br /> <br />I hereby recommend your approval of this ordinance." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to adopt <br />the following ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br /> "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 8 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988), BY AMENDING SECTION 8-33 THEREOF, <br />PERTAINING TO CABLE TELEVISION COMMUNICATIONS." <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Epperson, Griffin, Hawks, King, Pitts, Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />94-243 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />an ordinance to amend Chapter 37 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, by amending Section 37-132 pertaining to <br />taxicab rates. <br /> <br /> "The State Office of Weights and Measures recommends a <br />change in our City Code pertaining to taxicab rates, in order to <br />correct a disparity between the "drop" rates and the "waiting <br />time" rates in the City's ordinance. Since these requirements do not <br />coincide with the requirements presently listed in our City <br />Code, changes to Chapter 3 of the City Code are necessary.
