Davis Reed,

Mayor. ~

In connection with said disapproval, the following eommuni~ation from the Nmyor was rezd:

~Portsmouth, V~., 9th September, 1911.
"The 0ouncil.
"Gentiemen:-~
~'I would respectfully ask that that part of my veto referring to
the borrowing by %he oi~y of $15,000 for the Seventh Ward Board of Public ImpMovements, be not eon-
sidered by your honorable body.
"Since vetoing this resolution I have been advised by the Chairman of the Seventh W~rd Board
that advertisements had been prepared asking for street improvements, which would reouire what funds
~6'~Board then had in hand as well as the $15,000, but that T~heF would not need the ~15,000 until
next ~ear, and for this reason I wish to withdraw the veto, b~t with the understanding that the said
sum of $15,000 is not to be borrowed ~ntil after December ~lst, 1911.

"Respectfully,

"J.
