<br /> The Seventh Ward Local Booed requested that awards be made to R.B. Denby to grmde streets in
<br />the Seventh Ward, at a cost of $9,174.00; and to Louis Lawson for concrete curbing, concrete supports
<br />for gutter plates, put%lng street n~mes in cement, 'concrete walks, pipe line", catch basi~s, and con-
<br />crete culvert, at a eos~ of $~0.106.20.
<br /> - On motion, the request was referred to the Joint- Finance Committee.

<br /> A request of Jos. a. Sutkrie to have pmved the sidewalks of Quee~ s~reet, between Ef~inghmm and
<br />Chestnut, and to improve the condition of SP~atley street, West' Park View, wms, on motion, referred
<br />to the Street Co~ittee.

<br /> A petition of Frank C. Harm~h~n ~nd sundry others to have refunded them license taxes paid on
<br />slot machines for the year 19il, 'the said slot machines h~ving been repressed by order of the Mayor,
<br />was referred to the Pinance Committee.

<br /> A request of ~he Water Compmn~ to be paid $167.58 due it by decree of court, was remd ~ud, on
<br />motion, referred to the Finance Committee.

<br /> Mr. Montague stated that, as the ~ayment of contractors for work in the Seventh Ward did not
<br />eome out of the O~ty Funds, and as the ¥~ard is desirous of beginning the work at once, he would move
<br />that the action of the body in referring the application to the ~inanoe Committee be reconsidered,
<br />with the view of making the awards at this time. ~The motion was adopted.
<br /> It wms then moved that a~ard be made to the oontra6tors named by the War~, and For the amounts
<br />rimmed. The motion was adopted by the following vote:

<br /> Mr. Montmgue stated that there is ~a vacancy on the Board from the Eourth Ward, due to ~resigna-
<br />tion of W. E. Calvert therefrom, and moved that the Board go. into election to fill the vacancy.
