Gentlemen:-- Your Street Oommittee reepectI~lly reports herein concerning the following matters referred te the Joint B~reet Co~t~tee S~ptember 1E-i~, 1911: Referred by Common ~oil Sept. Adivsability of grading the H~ton Place sidewalks to oonfo~ with the grade of Dinwiddie street. We =eco~end t~t the work be done, at a cos~ of $110.00. To consider the cost of grading, curbing, ~tte=ing~ ~d paving Third st=est, between ~ri~on and Fays ~te. We reco~end ~ appropriation of $1800.00 for thi~ Referred by Board of Aldermen SeptJ 19th, Advisability of paving the south side of Leckie street, from Azmstrong to Williams. We recommend an~ appropriation of $3?5°00 ~o do this work, We further reco~end~an appropriation of $~JES.00 to curb and gutter the east side of Pa~ke ave- nue, from Naval to the north end of Parke. ~ Further, that the Etreet Committee be authorized~ to sell to A. Ogg the old stone at the north end of Washington street, at ~l. E5 per cubic yard, Mr. Ogg to remove the stone from the street. Further, an appropriation of $1,000.00 to repair the sidewalks destroyed in the street paving work.- F~rthe=, an appropriation of $12B.GO to ~uppty i~0 feet of double strength terra cotta pipe on the west Side of Effingham street, between the so~th side of Beott street and the concrete cul- vert in Rice's branch, as advised in the accompanying communication fr~m Bascom Sykes, Engineex for the Seventh ~ard. Public Property-- Board G~ntlemen:-- Your Public Property Committee respect- l~lly reports herein concerning the foilowing matters referred to the Joint Public Property Commit- tee September 1E-19, 1911: Referred by Common Oouncil Sept. 1Eth. A petition of ~. H. Cherry, Janitor of the City Market, for~an increase We have considered this petition and recommend that thesalary of ket be increased $10.00 per month, begimning January 1, 191E. of salary. the Janitor of 'the ~v- Authorized, with the concurrence of the Board of Aldermen therefor, to purchase a stove for Ers. Nattie Hoofnagle, widow of the ~a~e Keeper~ of the Jail, out of appr'opriation tc Jail ~and kef house, at a cost not xn excess of SEB. 00. Your 0ommittee further recommends that it be authorized to advertise for bids to purchase and wood for the public buildings for the coming season. Itais further recommended that an appropriation of $1E5.00 be made,' out of appropriation to Market.m~d Jail, for repairs to the vegetable market, It is recommended further that the Committee be authorized to spend out of appropriation for improvement of the Jail.
