<br />in concerning the following matters referred to the Joint Light Committee January 16, 19lB:
<br /> Referred by Board of Aldermen January 16th.

<br /> Instructed to consider the City taking over and maintaining the flaming arc lights on High and
<br />Effingham streets.
<br /> We have considered this matter and recommend as follows:

<br /> First. That the "White Way" now maintained by citizens on High, Effingham, County and Chest-
<br />nut streets be taken over by the City from ~arch l, 191~, and re-arranged in accordance with accom-
<br />panying diagram.
<br /> Second. That the Finance and Light Committees, jointly, be instructed to make a contract with
<br />the Virginia Railway & Power Company for continuing these lights, said contract to be subject to
<br />the approval of the City Council.
