The motion was adopted. <br /> On motion, the Mayor was invited to go to Buffalo to attend the League of American Mun~cmpalm- <br />ties. ' ' ' <br /> Then the report of the Committee, as amended, was adopted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Montague observed that the Manager of the Southern Bell Telephone & Telegraph Company had <br />been transferred from Portsmouth to Norfolk. He said he thought th~s City was entitled to a mana- <br />ger of its telephone and telegraph system, and would move that a special committee of five be ap- <br />pointed to investigate and report concerning same. The motion was ad,n ted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hawks mffered the following motion, which was adopted: <br /> <br />quested to so amend the ordinance relative <br />p!iance with the provisions of same.
