<br /> Authorized to negotiate with the owners of "Newton's Wharf~ relative to its purchase by Norfolk
<br />County and the. City for additional ferry facilities.
<br /> We have been considering this proposition with owners of the Newton Wharf property and a
<br />counter:proposition with ~agent-$ fo~ owners of the Campbell Wh.arf property (lying between the ferry
<br />property and Roanoke dock), but have no~ as yet reached a bas~s for~a recommendation as to such pro-
<br />perty. We hedge to b'e able to.report on ~he same at the~nex~ regular meetznoS' ~ o'f CouncilS.

<br /> A request of The Ferries Company to be allowed to extend its ferry house on the Norfolk side
<br />from Water street to its present location, at a cost of about SE0~000.00.

<br />that the proposition is not advisable, and, therefore,.recommend that the request be not granted.
