O. Nicholeon, deceased since the February meeting of the body, presented the following: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ our friend and colleague L. O. Nicholcon has been called from the walks of men to the <br />realms of eterni~y~ <br /> BE IT RESOLVED, That ac we respected him as a man, honored him as a citizen, cherished him as a <br />friend, and leaned on him as~ a member of the Board of Aldermen, we sorrow at his departure and feel <br />keenly the loss sustained by us a individuals and as a branch of the City Government. <br /> To his~loved~ones we tender our sympathy and invoke for them the guidance and protection of God. <br /> RESOLVED FURTH~R, That these resolutions bedspread on the records of the Board of Aldermen, and <br />that a copy be sent to the family of the deceased. <br /> <br />L. Matters adopted by the Common Council March llth and referred to the Board of Aldermen <br />for conculT~no~o <br /> <br /> To adopt a resolution of the Board of Water Commissioners in regard to a deed between the City <br />and the Richmond Cedar Works. (See Records of Common ~ouncil~ March iI, 1BIg, Page 18,8). <br /> <br /> To allow the Park View Fire Company to hold a carnival on the "Phillips-Mahoney, lot forgone <br />week between April l~th and May §th~ and to,exempt said Company from payment of a license tax on same. <br /> <br /> To refer ~o Finance Committee a request of the Board of Water Commissioners for~an additional <br />appropriation of $1B,O00.O0. <br /> <br /> To authorize the Fire Committee to advertise.for bids to suppl? material for new work on fire- <br />alarm telegraph system. <br /> <br /> To authorize the Cemetery Committee to advertise for bids to white-wash the.cemetery walls. <br /> <br /> To adopt a resolution in regard to appointing a Committee of Five to take such immediate steps <br />as may be necessary in an-effort to secure the General Office building of the Seaboard Air Line Rail- <br />way for this City. <br /> <br /> TO request the Mayor to instruct the City Attorney to enter a friendly suit against the Virginia <br />Railway & Power Company to obta~n~the Sixth War&'s proportion of cost for paving between tracks of <br />said Company and two feet on each side ofsame on County street. <br /> <br />To authorize the Fire Committee to a~vertics for bids for s n~w Mo~ ~v~v W~ <br /> <br /> <br />
