<br />the cost of maintenance of a police patrol horse and wagon.

<br /> To endorse a joint resolution to extend..the Deep Creek macadam road across the Swamp which
<br />divides Virginia and North Carolina.
<br />
<br /> To instruct the Street Committee to make thorough inspection, with the aid of expert and
<br />practical assistance, of the entire work done by the Bithulithic Paving Contractors, in order
<br />to secure the class of work for which contract was made.
<br />
<br /> All of the above were concurred .in, except the 'sec$ion in regard to instructing the Street
<br />Committee to make thorough inspection, &c., of the entire work done by the paving contractors,
<br />which said section was~referred to the Street committee to ascertain the cost cf making said in-
<br />spection.

<br /> TO appropriate $150.00 to pay the expenses of the Health Officer to
<br />Havana, Cuba. ,

<br /> To authorize the Public Property Committee to advertise for bids to build a new Clerk's of-
<br />fice.

<br /> ~To refer to the Fire Committee a petition from sundry residents of the Fourth Ward to es-
<br />tablish a fire company, equip it with apparatus, and erect a house on a lot Owned by the City on
<br />the south side of Lincoln street, between Third-and Fourth.

<br /> To appoint two member~ of the :Sixth Ward Local Board to mee~ with the Council CommZttee and
<br />Committee from the B. H. A., for a conference concerning street car rcutes~ trackage, &C.~

<br /> All of the above were concurred in, except.the appropriation of $150.00 to pay the expenses
<br />of the Health Officer to Havana, ~aba, which said appropriation was referred to the Joint Fi-
<br />hance Committee.

<br /> To allow a special appropriation of $500.00 to meet expenses of the Fire Department until
