Common Oounci!. <br /> <br />Gentlemen:~- You~ <br /> <br />Special Almshouse Committee <br /> <br />respectfully reports herein concerning the following mat~ter referred to it 0etcher 17, t9t1: <br /> <br /> A recommendation of the Committee that in future inmates of the Almshous? ~s~ail, be sent <br />there on the order of the Chairman er th~ V~ce-~hai~man of the Alms~o.use 0ommmt~eonly, when <br />requested so to do either by the Mayor, Health Officer, or the Phy~zc~an.to the <br /> . ' In the. report of the Committee, as it went to the Common Council, the Vice-Chairman <br />of the Almshouse Committee acted in sending inmates t~o the Almshouse only when the Chairman of <br />said Committee could not act; but this recommendation was amended in the 0ommon CounCml so as <br />to allow either ~he Chairman or the Vice.Chairman so to act. <br /> We have reconsidered the whole.matter and desire to repeat the recommendation origi- <br />nally made to the Common Council, namely:,That <br /> in future inmates of the Almshouse shall be sent <br />there by order of the Chairman~ Of the Almshouse Committee only, or in his absence, the Vice- <br />Chairman of the same, when requested so to do either by the Mayor, the Health Officer, or the <br />Physician to the poor." <br /> (Signed).
