<br /> The Clerk stated that he has a quantity of useless Council papers on hand which should be
<br />destroyed, and he requested that a Comniittee of Supervision in the matter be appointed.
<br /> The request was granted, and Messrs. Brinson and Heath were appointed on the Commit-
<br />tee from this body.

<br /> The. "call" for the meeting having been read, Mr. Hall stated thaz he had requested Presi-
<br />dent ~alker of the Board of Aldermen to ~oin with him in asking for a special session of the
<br />two bodies of Council~ because of a meeting which he had attended in Norfolk several days ago,
<br />to consider the sanitation o£ Norfolk and Portsmouth and neighbo~ing~oommunities~ and he wished
<br />the other members of Council to know as much about whaz transpire~ at that meeting as he had
<br />learned there~ he then stated that Dr. P. S. Schenck, Health Officer of Norfolk, Dr. Southgate
<br />Leigh, President of the Hampton Roads Health 2ssociation, and Mr. H. E. Wolcott~ President of
<br />the Norfolk Hoard of Trade~ were present~ and he moved that the r~les be suspended to hear from
<br />these gentlemen on the subject of sanitation. The motion was adopted.
<br /> These gentlemen explained that they were present in the interesz of the Hampton Roads Heal~_
<br />Association, and that the object of this Association is to so handle the health situation in the
<br />
