<br />nicipalities, urging that delegates be appointed to attend a Convention of said League which

<br /> Mr. Hawks moved that the Presidents~of the two branches of Council b, authorized to
<br />appoint three delegates to go to Buffalo 'and five delegates to go to Alexandria to attend said
<br />Conventions, and that an appropriation for same be referred to the Finance Committee.
<br /> The motion was adopted.

<br /> A~request was received from the Park View fire company to be exempt from
<br />cense tax on a carnival to be held by said Company September 9-14th, and, on mot

<br />tion given him July 19th that paid men of the Chambers Fire Company had been ~rant~d peTmiS~on

<br />andalso that the S~pe~intendent of the Fire-Alarm SyStem had been granted a fi~e day leave of
<br />absence, with consent oftthe Chief.
<br /> He said that he had given his approval of said matters, and further recommended an ap-
<br />Propriation of $15.00 to pay a sUbstitute filling the position of Superintenden~ of the Fire
<br />Alarm System while on his leave of absence.
<br /> On motion, the communication was ordered to file, and the recommended appropriation
<br />was referred to Finance Co~ittee.
