Progress. Advisability of remodeling ~he meat market, and general cleaning of the vegetable market. Progress. To report later on advisability of advertising for plans ~or improvement to Gun Room. We report that we are considering the matter. Grimes Battery Referred by Board of Aldermen October 15th. Recommitted. To await instructions from the Council concerning an appropriation of $3,500. to improve interior of the Seaboard Market house. We report that we are _awaiting instructions from the Council concerning same. Condition of'stalls in the Hook and Ladder house. We report that this matter will be attended to by the Committee. Referred by Board of Aldermen September tTth. Attention calisd to condition of the roof of the Sewer Power House. It is recomm_ended that an appropriation of $62.00 be allowed to repair 'this roof'. On October 8-15th the Councils allowed $50.Q0 for a feed room at the. Union fire com- pany's house. Advisability of an ordinance to require horses and mules to be blanketed during cold and wet weather. PrOgress as to same. Referred by Common Council September 10th. To prepare an ordinance requiring the Physician to the Poor to view all bodies dead, with- out medical attendance, and in case he may suspect that the death was not from natural causes, he shall so notify the Polide Department, and said Department shall notify the Coronar as. to same. Progress. To amend section ~80 of the Ordinances in regard to lead pipes~ so as to provide a penalty for violations of the ordinance. It is recommended that the following amendment be adopted therefor: An Ordinance to Repeal Sections ~5~, Z59 and ~0 of the Ordinances of the City and tb Sub- stitute in lieu thereof a new~ Ordinance in Reference to House Connections with the Mains of the Water Company where Streets are to be hereafter Paved.
