C. <br /> <br /> On motion, the report of the Committee was adopted and by the following vote, the recom- <br />mended appropriations being referred to Finance Committee: <br /> Ayes--Corbitt, Hall, Benson, <br /> Parrish, Hanvey, Dewson, ~oore, Johnson, Heath, Walker, Cross, Withy~ Hawks, <br /> Hutchins, Beisel, Cooke, Saunders, l?. <br /> <br />Public Property-- <br /> <br />Hon. Common Counci2. <br /> Get,lemon:-- Your Public Property Committee re- <br /> <br />speotfully ~reports herein concerning the following matters referred to the Joint Public Pro- <br />petty Committee October 8-15 and September 17, 19lB: <br /> <br /> Referred by Common Council October 8th. <br /> <br /> (With Finance ComMittee). Question of a caretaker for the "Municipal Building," with pay <br />for said caretaker. Progress as to same. <br /> <br />Advisability of removing the fence around the court house_building. Progress. <br /> <br />Advisability of remodeling ~he meat market, and general cleaning of the vegetable market. <br /> Progress. <br /> <br /> To report later on advisability of advertising for plans ~or improvement to <br />Gun Room. <br /> We report that we are considering the matter. <br /> <br />Grimes Battery <br /> <br />Referred by Board of Aldermen October 15th. <br /> <br /> Recommitted. To await instructions from the Council concerning an appropriation of $3,500. <br />to improve interior of the Seaboard Market house. <br /> We report that we are _awaiting instructions from the Council concerning same. <br /> <br />Condition of'stalls in the Hook and Ladder house. <br /> We report that this matter will be attended to by the Committee. <br /> <br /> Referred by Board of Aldermen September tTth. <br /> <br />Attention calisd to condition of the roof of the Sewer Power House. <br /> It is recomm_ended that an appropriation of $62.00 be allowed to repair 'this roof'. <br /> <br /> On October 8-15th the Councils allowed $50.Q0 for a feed room at the. Union fire com- <br />pany's house. We report that it ~ill take $i00.00 for this feed room, and it ~s ~ecommended <br />that $i00.00 be appropriated for same. <br /> (Signed). S.B. Common Council. <br /> Gentl~men:-~¥our Ordinance Co~mittee respectfully re- <br /> <br />ports herein concerning the following matters referred to the Joint Ordinance Committee October <br /> <br />and September 10, 1912: <br /> <br />Referred by Common Comncil October 8th. <br /> <br /> Advisability of an ordinance to require horses and mules to be blanketed during cold and <br />wet weather. PrOgress as to same. <br /> <br />Referred by Common Council September 10th. <br /> <br /> To prepare an ordinance requiring the Physician to the Poor to view all bodies dead, with- <br />out medical attendance, and in case he may suspect that the death was not from natural causes, <br />he shall so notify the Polide Department, and said Department shall notify the Coronar as. to <br />same. Progress. <br /> <br /> To amend section ~80 of the Ordinances in regard to lead pipes~ so as to provide a penalty <br />for violations of the ordinance. <br /> It is recommended that the following amendment be adopted therefor: <br /> <br /> An Ordinance to Repeal Sections ~5~, Z59 and ~0 of the Ordinances of the City and tb Sub- <br />stitute in lieu thereof a new~ Ordinance in Reference to House Connections with the Mains of the <br />Water Company where Streets are to be hereafter Paved. <br /> <br />Instructed to prepare an ordinance creating the office of Polio? Justice~ said office to <br />begin January t, 1915, with a s~lary of $I,~00.00 amiua!ly, payable ~n equal ~ns~lmente monthly. <br /> In view of the fact tl%atby action of the Councils your Committee has been deprived <br />of its proper and usual functions, and we have only to follow your instructions to bring in an <br />ordinance the conditions and time to become effective as you have provide~, we have requested <br />~the City Attorney to prepare said ordinance~ which is herewith prasented without recommendation: <br /> <br /> <br />
