<br />ment Company will enter into a contrac~ with the City to pave between its tracks and two (~)
<br />feet on each side of same, with such material as is used by the City on said street, the work'
<br />· to be done tnqder supervision and with the approval of~the City Engineer; ~nd provided further,
<br />that channel of creek to b~ crossed by the spur be not obstructed thereby.
<br /> To instruct the City Attorney to bring a friendly suit against th~ Virginia Railwa~ and~
<br />Power Commany to'recover funds paid by theSixth Ward for paving between tracks of the Comoany
<br />on County street.
<br /> A resolution in regard to condemnation .proceedings of certain properties by the Board of
<br />Water Commiss.ioners for a municipal water plant.

<br /> An OrdinanCe to Repeal Sections $B8~ 2~9, and 280 of the 0~dinances~of the Cit~ and to Sub-
<br />stitute in Lieu thereof a New Ordinance i~ HeferBnce to House Connections with the Mains of the
<br />Water Company where Streets are to be Hereafter Paved.

<br /> A communication was Orssented by the Chairman of the Finance Committee as coming from the
<br />Cashier of The Merchants' & Farmers' Bank, in which request was ma~e that certain alterations
<br />be made in coupons of City of Portsmouth Redemption Bond $38, for SB00.00 and that the follow-
<br />lng resolution be adooted to cover the same:

<br /> "~E~S certain clerical errors were made in four of the coupons numbered 49, 50, 52, ~nd
<br />~4 attached to Portsmouth City Redemption Bond number ~8, dated July 2, 188~ for the sum of
<br />Five Hundred Dollars: said errors being as follows:
<br /> Coupon No. 49 is not dated not-signed;
<br /> " " 50 is made payable July 1, 1914 when it
<br /> 1913;
<br /> " " 52 is made ~avabie July i, 19t5 when it
<br /> 1914; and
<br /> " 54 is made payable July 1~ 1916 when it
<br /> 1915; and
<br />"WHE~REAS the holder of the said bond desires ~o have the said clerical errors correct~d,
<br />"NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, that the City
<br />Auditor of the CitT of Portsmouth be and he is hereby directed to audit the said~ coupons as if
<br />no such errors had occurred, and the City Treasurer of said City be and he is hereby directed
<br />to pay the said coupons at the proper time of their maturity and to disregard the errors as here-
<br />inabove stated.
<br /> "And'be it further resolved that the Clerk of this Council certify a copy of this resolu-
<br />tion, under the sea~ of the City of Portsmouth~ mo the holder of the said bond so that the same
<br />may be thereto attached, and likewise certify copies to the City Auditor and City Treasurer of
<br />this City to be kept on file in their respective offices for their future guidance."
