C. <br /> <br /> In connection with the report, the Chairman of the Committee stated that his Committee <br />had advertised for bids for Whitewashing the cemetery walls, that at the last regular meeting <br />of the Committee no bids had-been r~ceived for the' work; but bide had been received since said <br />meeting and he had called his Committee together this evening to have the bids considered and <br />recommendation made, but there had been no quorum of the Committee present. <br /> He said further that the walls Bhould be whitewashed before Memorial ~y and Council would <br />not meet again before that time. He asked that the bids be now read, passed on, and an appro- <br />priation made for the accepted bid. <br /> Whereupon, the following bids were read for the whitewashing: <br /> <br />From: <br /> <br />W. Bess being the lowest.bidder for the work, on motion, award was made to him and <br />by the following vote: <br /> Ayes--Hall, Benson, Parrish, Hanvey, Dewson, Johnson~ Heath, Cross, <br /> Withy, TyA~r, HaWks, Hutc~ins, -1~. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hawks then moved that an appropriatiom to cover the work of whitewashing be referred <br />the Cemetery and Finance .~ommittees Jointly, with power to act. <br /> Mr. Hall 9pposed the pr~position, but the amendment was adopted, Mr. Hall voting NO. <br /> <br />Then the report of the Committee, as amended, was adopted and by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes--Hall, Benson, Parrish, P~nvey, Dewson, Johnson, Heath, Cross, Withy, Tyler, <br /> Hawks, Hutchins, l~. <br /> <br />Lzohts-- <br /> <br />Hen.
