R. O. P. A petition of the Salvation Army that the City make an annual donation for the Army's wqrk, Progress. ~ A petition of J. Leon Codd, administrator of the estate of W. J. Codd, to be relieved from payment of $10.2.0 erroneously assessed against said estate for the year 1912. It is recommended that the petition be ~allowed. A petition of John P. Richardson, fireman, to be allowed $52.26 for time lost from duty from May.5th to June let, on account of sickness.. It is recommended that the petition be allowed, and that a special appropriati, on be made for same. A communication from Capt. Harry A. Brinkiey in regard to an appropriation for Grimes Bat- tery Gun Room. It is recommended that the requsst be granted, and that the following resolutmon be adopted therefor: Resolved, That the Treasurer be, and he is hereby, authorized to ~make notes in The Bank of Portsmouth, Th~ Merchants' & Farmers' Bank~ the Bank of Tidewater, and The First National Bank of Portsmouth, to amount of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($~0,000.00), to meet current expenses for the mo~th of July~ 1913; said amo~n~ to be repaid from revenues of the City'for the current ~ear.
